Historic accommodation… one hour from Hobart

Passion, energy, positivity, vision and grit have shaped my fascinating lifetime of successful business ventures including travel consultancy, corporate catering, events and hosting accommodation for 25 years.
I grew up on a Queensland sheep property, with almost identical shearers quarters, cottage and shearing shed, so owning Rathmore, a sheep property that was in one family for 150 years has taken me back to my roots.
My husband Richard, an engineering surveyor, and I are thrilled to share Rathmore’s rich heritage and its history with you.
We honeymooned in Tasmania in 2003 and decided then we wanted a Tasmanian paradise one day. Having 6 children with some finishing their education, businesses and developments in Queensland amongst health crises, it was December 2015 when we inspected Rathmore. It was the only property we looked at, but we fell in love with it, as we are confident you will too.

“An experience to treasure.”
An ideal getaway for the whole family. A gorgeous cottage (converted shearers cooks quarters) with period features retained. Really friendly and helpful hosts who were very willing to answer all our questions about the local community. The platypus that live in the lake and rowing the boat out to see them was the highlight for us. Feeding Hercules a close second… An unexpected bonus was the breakfast supplies (bread, milk, cereal, condiments) which was much appreciated, and especially the marshmallows provided for hot chocolates! The whole Rathmore grounds, with its historical buildings and structures is beautiful.
