Rathmore House are now thrilled to offer guests Premium Guided Bushwalking in the fantastic Mt Field National Park, part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage area.


Mt Field National Park is one of Tasmania’s most loved and diverse parks. It has a wide variety of scenic features and wildlife and offers a great range of walking tracks for visitors. Few other national parks in Australia offer such a diversity in vegetation, ranging from tall swamp gum forests and massive tree ferns at the base of the mountains, through ancient rainforest to alpine vegetation at the higher elevations.

Mt Field, Tasmania’s oldest national park presents a spectacular array of natural wonders, carved out by the force of glaciers from the previous Ice Age. Among the many natural heritage values to be found within the park are rare plant and animal species, outstanding glacial features plus alpine and subalpine communities of high conservation value. 

Wildlife encounters are possible and include wombats, black cockatoos, wedge-tailed eagles and maybe even a platypus. All walks begin and finish at Rathmore House with return vehicle transfer included. Adventure for all fitness levels.
